Volunteers

The Café Theater Festival is being run by a team of energetic professionals. During the festivals, our team is supported by enthusiastic volunteers.  To make the next edition a success, we are looking for location managers, production assistants and photographers.

Are you unsure with which role suits you best, or do you have another idea to strengthen our team? Send us an email to volunteers@cafetheaterfestival.nl.

Location Manager (LM)

As a location manager, you are the host of one of the locations and the face of our festival at said location.

You are the link between the hospitality establishment, the artist, the visitor and the organisation and the organisation relies on you to ensure that the festival runs smoothly. As a spider in the web, you ensure that communication between the parties on location runs smoothly.  You are present in your location on all festival days.

Production Assistant (PA)

As a production assistant you put out fires where needed. You’re a lifesaver and jack of all trades. You support the team during the festival by, among other things, taking care of the decorations at the locations and counting the votes and donations at the office, but you’re also available for all kinds of emergencies. During the festival you will visit all kinds of locations and will get a lot of  behind-the-scenes experience, meaning you’ll get a look at the all different sides of the festival.

Photographer

Pics or it didn’t happen! As a photographer you immortalize the entire festival. You are invaluable not only to the festival, but also to the performing artists, as you will be capturing their performance. You hop from performance to performance, work in a dynamic environment and are given space to select and edit your photos. Photos are uploaded – under a creative common license – and shared online with mention of your name. Experience is desirable, but there is certainly opportunity for further development.

Social Media Reporter

You are familiar with social networks and know how to take nice shots. As our social media reporter, you fly from performance to performance during the festival and you provide the content that our marketing and communications department uses to for our accounts during the festival weekend.

Enthusiastic? Click here for the full job description.

Researcher

Armed with sharp questions, you go to various performances and approach the  members audience afterwards. You’ll ask questions about why they attended, what they liked about experience, and what their opinions are on things such as the Pay What You Can system.

What Do You Get From Us?

Working at the CTF means getting to know a lot of new people. It is an excellent opportunity to make new contacts and to expand your CV with relevant experience in the organisation of a festival and within the cultural industry. You are part of a close-knit, enthusiastic team that puts on a great festival. Before the festival, you will be given a workshop to prepare for the position. You’ll get a festival T-shirt, food and drinks during your working hours and an invitation to the wrap party.

Are you interested in one of the positions? Send us an email with a short motivation for the position(s) you wish to perform to volunteers@cafetheaterfestival.nl. We will then invite you for a chat.
