NL // Eén seconde heb je nodig voor die ene zin: “Ik ben gay”. Maar uit de kast komen, is geen momentopname – het is een proces. Dat bewijst Brecht Hermans met zijn eigen coming-out story: een grappig, kwetsbaar en muzikaal verhaal. Twintig jaar in dertig minuten theater.
Brecht Hermans maakt vaak theater met bijzondere doelgroepen, waarbij hij anderen vraagt zichzelf op het podium te laten zien. ‘Ik moet u iets vertellen’ is de eerste solo-voorstelling waarin Brecht zijn eigen verhaal deelt en er zichzelf zo aan herinnert hoe kwetsbaar je op het podium kan en mag zijn.
De Antilliaans-Nederlandse theatermaker Nina-Elisa Euson regisseert. Zij zal Brechts verhaal van alle kanten onder de loep nemen en monteren tot een sterk muziektheaterstuk.

That’s what Brecht Hermans proves with his own coming-out story: a funny, vulnerable and musical story with a time span of 20 years, compressed into 30 minutes of theater.
Brecht Hermans often makes inclusive theater performances in which he asks his fellow actors to show themselves on stage. Ik moet u iets vertellen (Let the world know) is the first solo performance in which Brecht shares his own story and reminds himself of how vulnerable you can be on stage.
The Antillean-Dutch theater maker Nina-Elisa Euson directs. She will take a close look at Brecht’s story from all sides and edit it into a strong piece of musical theater.

NL // Brecht Hermans is een Belgische theatermaker, wonend in Rotterdam. Hij studeerde Theaterwetenschappen in Gent en Utrecht en Podiumtechnieken in Brussel. In België maakte en speelde hij bij de collectieven Oortocht, De Constanten en De Stokerij, en de afgelopen vijf jaar werkte hij voor het inclusieve Theater Babel Rotterdam. Zijn voorstelling ‘De Karamazovs’ speelde op het Amsterdam Fringe Festival en won de Spirit of the Fringe award in Parijs.
Nina-Elisa Euson studeerde in 2020 af aan de Toneelacademie Maastricht, na een opleiding Psychologie. Ze speelde bij Wij zijn Dox, Wunderbaum en Studio Figur, en schreef en regisseerde ‘Gouden Bergen’ voor het Amsterdam Fringe Festival 2021.
