NL // Na een fantastische editie van het CTF in maart 2023, is een selectie van de voorstellingen komende zomer wederom bij de Nijverheid te zien. Vanaf vrijdag 30 juni krijgen nieuwe Utrechtse makers een podium op de sfeervolle locatie in het Werkspoorgebied in Utrecht.
Na twee meer dan geslaagde edities mag het CTF de handen dit jaar voor de derde ineen slaan met de Nijverheid. Dankzij hun gastvrijheid kunnen we aanstormende theatermakers en talenten het podium geven dat zij verdienen. We zijn dan ook blij dit opnieuw met hen te mogen doen. Niet alleen voor de makers, ook voor het publiek. Op het terrein van de Nijverheid krijgt het publiek de Café Theater Festival ervaring op het terras: met een drankje in de zon genieten van twee voorstellingen van frisse talenten.

Elke Thelissen – Collision
vrijdag 30 juni – 20:00 uur
Elke Thelissen is een 21-jarige Utrechtse freestyle danseres en hiphop dansmaker. Ze heeft een grote liefde voor het samenbrengen van dans met fysiek spel en vertelt met haar lichaam abstracte, gevoelsmatige en speelse verhalen. In Collision vindt een vrouw zichzelf terug in een bar, waarna ze in een trip van verwarring belandt waarin ruimte, geluid en beweging samensmelten.

Sinéad O’Brien – Hero/Banloach

Sinéad is een opkomend storyteller uit Ierland. In deze verhalende, gewaagde voorstelling combineert ze haar persoonlijke verhalen met Ierse mythes. Toen Sinéad opgroeide was haar vader haar held. Na een instorting moest ze de harde waarheid onder ogen zien en de verhalen die ze zichzelf vertelde herontdekken.

Collectief TEDER – De Heksenhamer
zondag 9 juli – 15:00 uur
Muziektheatercollectief TEDER bestaat uit Isa Zwart en Joy Delphi. Zij delen een drang om hun intersectioneel feministisch perspectief aan het licht te brengen door middel van zang, tekst en elektronische muziek. In De Heksenhamer ontkrachten ze het sprookjesbeeld over de heksenvervolgingen van 600 jaar geleden en herstellen ze de eer van de heks.

SLIK – Soms wil ik iemand aan kunnen staren

Slik is het breinkind van Luc Laport, afgestudeerd Music Performance Artist aan het Conservatorium te Utrecht. Hij maakt muzikale performances waarin hij sociale dynamiek onderzoek, bevraagt, door elkaar schudt en weer terug op de plank legt. Soms wil ik iemand aan kunnen staren is een voorstelling over de koppeling tussen seksualiteit en gedrag en hoe men zich daartoe verhoudt in een sociale context.

Sofie Kramer – SCOLD
Vrijdag 27 oktober – 21:30 uur
SCOLD is de prijswinnende solovoorstelling van theatermaker en performer Sofie Kramer. Een scold was in de renaissance een luide, onaangepaste vrouw. Wie zich schuldig maakte aan scolding kreeg een kooi om haar hoofd met een bit in haar mond. In deze intieme, muzikale performance ontketent Sofie de schold in zichzelf: kwetsbaar, vurig en goudeerlijk.

ENG // After a fantastic edition of the CTF in March 2023, a selection of the performances can be visited again this summer at De Nijverheid. From Friday 30 June, new makers will be given a stage at the attractive location in the Werkspoor area in Utrecht.
After two more than successful editions, the CTF and De Nijverheid are joining forces for the third time this year. Thanks to their hospitality, we can give up-and-coming theater makers the stage they deserve. We are therefore happy to be able to do this with them again. Not only for the makers, but also for the audience. The audience gets the Café Theater Festival experience on the terrace: enjoy two performances by fresh talents with a drink in the sun.

Elke Thelissen – Collision

Elke Thelissen is a 21-year-old freestyle dancer and hip-hop dance maker from Utrecht. She has a great love for combining dance with physical theatre and tells abstract, emotional and playful stories with her body. In Collision, a woman finds herself in a bar, after which she ends up in a trip of confusion in which space, sound and movement merge.

Sinéad is an emerging storyteller from Ireland. In this narrative, daring performance she combines her personal stories with Irish myths. When Sinéad was growing up, her father was her hero. After a breakdown, she had to face the hard truth and rediscover the stories she told herself.

Slik is the brainchild of Luc Laport, who graduated as a Music Performance Artist at the Conservatory in Utrecht. He makes musical performances in which he investigates, questions, shakes up and puts back on the shelf again social dynamics. Soms wil ik iemand aan kunnen staren is a performance about the link between sexuality and behavior and how people relate to this in a social context.

Sofie Kramer – SCOLD

SCOLD is the award-winning solo performance by theater maker and performer Sofie Kramer. In the Renaissance, a scold was a loud, maladjusted woman. Anyone guilty of scolding got a cage around her head with a bit in her mouth. In this intimate, musical performance, Sofie unleashes the abuse within herself: vulnerable, fiery and honest.
