NL // Met ruim 3500 bezoekers, 24 voorstellingen op 4 zaterdagen in 24 locaties zag het Café Theater Festival er dit jaar heel anders uit. Nog steeds presenteerden nieuwe makers hun werk in een unieke, intieme setting. Alleen dit keer niet allemaal tegelijk, maar om en om.
Na succesvolle eerste edities in Rotterdam en Arnhem, veroverde het CTF de afgelopen weken de horeca in Utrecht. Op 30 april, 7 & 21 mei en 4 juni waren er weer door de hele stad voorstellingen te zien. Het CTF is een springplank voor nieuwe makers in alle genres en stijlen. Zo hebben gevestigde namen als Anne Neuteboom, Club Gewalt en Kiki Schippers eerder een voorstelling gemaakt voor het festival. Deze editie presenteerde het festival wederom een nieuwe lichting makers, waaronder dansers, operazangers en cabaretiers.

Kunst zonder drempels
Bij het Café Theater Festival staat ontmoeting tussen deze nieuwe makers en een groot en breed publiek centraal. Daarom halen we radicaal alle drempels voor de kunsten weg. Ons motto is: wie je ook bent, tijdens het CTF is er in jouw stamkroeg, favoriete koffietentje of rustige leesplek een voorstelling te zien.
ENG // With over 3500 visitors and 24 performances on 4 Saturdays in 24 locations, this year’s Café Theater Festival looked very different. Still up-and-coming performers presented their work in a unique, intimate setting. Only this time not all at once, but in turns.
After successful first editions in Rotterdam and Arnhem, the CTF conquered the hospitality industry in Utrecht in the past weeks. On 30 April, 7 & 21 May and 4 June performances were held throughout the city. The CTF is a springboard for up-and-coming performing artists in all genres and styles. Established names such as Anne Neuteboom, Club Gewalt and Kiki Schippers have previously made a performance for the festival. This edition the festival once again presented a new batch of makers, including dancers, opera singers and circus artists.
